Location Denmark - this race is the equivalent of completing around five marathons, pushing the participants to the limit as the team paddles for 24 hours in a row in both daylight and darkness around a 5km course.

Our team were a mix of paddle boarders, kite surfers, water sports fanatics as well as just because I can, I will.  What an epic adventure this race turned into.  From flat water and scorching sun, to rain, rolling swell and gusts of up to 18kt and paddling through total darkness. 

Our Skymonster Team smashed it and even though we came with the “it’s just for fun” attitude, after the first round of laps our team went into full send mode, ending up in 26^th place out of 77 teams.

From broken paddles to the race being stopped due to lightening activity there was never a dull moment.

The race was hard going and awesome, using our mental and physical strength to propel ourselves throughout the night.  Talk about true grit and determination when being pushed to the limits.  In hindsight we could have done with some more time to prep but that made the challenge even more exhilarating!  We could not have asked for a better team, everyone put 100% effort and then some!

We will be going back next year to break even more paddles, overdose on caffeine, eat Haribo’s, get wet and meet some amazing crews from all over the world and smash it out!
