There are days you know you just got to get out there, no matter the weather! We've had a number of warm sunny days with a bit of wind over the last 2 weeks but it looks like we're getting back to "business as usual" for this time of year.
Here are some photos from Cramond in Edinburgh, our local spot. Works amazing for anything from mid to low tide with over a mile of flat water paradise when the NE is blowing.
Works In: N-E
Ideal Wind: NE
Conditions: Cramond is a lovely spot close to Edinburgh which takes a NE particularly well although is very dependant on tidal state and not ideal at high tide as there is very little beach to play with. Cramond is not suitable for beginners or improvers who are not confidently staying upwind. The water is generally very flat and remains shallow for some distance when the tide is moderate to high.
Access: Park in the public car park which overlooks the beach.
Hazards: Watch out for the causeway linking Cramond Island to the beach, make sure you sail well upwind of it at all times. This beach can also get very crowded in high summer due to its proximity to Edinburgh. There is also a few exposed metal spikes so watch out for them.
